When is the right time to apply to the UK University?

The academic year in UK begins end September/ early October.

For Undergraduate entry:
Applications should be made through UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service) which is a centralized, clearing agency. Students should submit their application on or before 15 March of the previous year.


For Postgraduate entry:
Most of the UK universities/ colleges do not have any deadlines for postgraduate courses. The best time to apply is in October/December.


Is it possible to get scholarship for studying in UK?

Yes, you can. The UK offers variety of scholarships to students for number of programmes.

Does the student need to complete an IELTS/TOEFL exam even if the student studied English As?


Most British institutions requires the student to prove his/her proficiency in English. The student may be required to either take the IELTS test which is administered regularly by the British Council. Alternatively, the TOEFL is also recognised by British institutions.

Can the student stay with relatives while studying in the UK?

Yes. The student can choose between campus accommodation as well as it would enable the use of services like library, IT and extracurricular facilities to a great extent.

Is it possible to get a part time job in the UK while studying and what is the amount a student is likely to earn?

Yes, a student can get part time job in UK. International Students are also allowed to work part-time up to 20 hours per week during term time and full time during holidays. The amount earned varies between £4 and £15 per hour and this can be additional pocket money. However, when applying for a visa, students must show evidence of full financial support in order to cover their tuition and living costs.

Can I get accommodation in the university?

Yes you can. Most of the UK universities offer guaranteed accommodation to all international students.

Can the student's overseas relatives sponsor his/her studies in the UK?

Yes. The student can submit a sponsorship letter from his/her relatives indicating the relationship and the extent to which they are prepared to fund his/her studies. Besides this, they would also be required to show evidence of financial support (e.g. bank statements, salary certificate, their source of income etc.)

Is it possible to get the job after completing the course in the UK?

If you are offered a job, your employer has to apply to the Home Office for your work permit. This usually takes three months or more. GMAT score is considered which means that the student has to under go a GMAT examination.
